If they won't change it, you can ask if you can just buy a new mattress for her. If she is going to stay in the hospital for a long time, getting her a more comfortable mattress is ideal. But try buying mattress toppers. There are a lot hospital beds toppers out there. Check out online stores such as Amazon. Talk to a personnel in the hospital if they can have her mattress replaced.
